This week's Bike Night Asia Bike of the Week: Noel's Kymco Like 125 Italia

This retro scooter offered by the Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco brings out a combination of classic styling and the features you came to expect on a modern scooter. Targeting all age brackets, this scooter is designed to look smart for urban riding and is priced at P79,900.00 as of the writing of this article.

Classic Italian bike aesthetics is shown by giving it a round head lamp and side mirrors encased in chrome plated backings. Above the dashboard is a big windshield to block out the wind, the levers and the handle bars are also treated chrome maintaining its industrial look and a simple tail light for an elegant look.

Making the scooter run is a CVT, 125cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC engine that can deliver a modest 9hp and 10Nm of torque. The alloy shoes is 12 inches wide and is stabilized by a telescopic front forks and dual shocks set-up in the rear to receive the bumps. The breaking are ensured by placing disc breaks on both the front and rear wheel.

A retro designed instrument panel is of course installed to complete the classic feel of the scooter which displays the odometer, speedometer and a fuel gauge. For storage, the Like have a small glove compartment behind its apron with a 12v socket for your emergency charging needs.

The Kymco Like 125 Italia really does shows how the classics are timeless and are still a wanted design in the midst of the modern, sharply designed jungle of modern scooters.
