CORSA Motorcycle Tires: A Journey of Growth and Dedication
The story of CORSA Motorcycle Tires is a journey built on dedication, innovation and a strong commitment to rider safety. What began as a small company in Indonesia grew over the decades into a respected name in the global tire industry, eventually becoming part of Michelin—one of the world’s most recognized tire brands. Here is how CORSA rose through the years.
CORSA’s roots began in 1988, when the company was founded under the name PT. Oroban Pekasa. Though small at first, the team had a clear goal: to produce reliable tires that riders could trust every day. Only a few years after its founding, the company made an important step by entering a cooperation with Pirelli in 1991. This partnership exposed the team to global tire technology and standards.
The momentum continued in 1995, when the company extended its cooperation to Continental GMBH, another major global brand. These collaborations broadened its technical knowledge and strengthened its foundation for future growth. In 2001, the company launched two major brands: Corsa and Strada. This was a turning point, marking CORSA’s shift from manufacturing with partners to building its own strong identity. Riders began to recognize the brand as a dependable choice for quality and performance.

The year 2005 saw a major milestone with the company’s IPO, which funded a project involving 1 billion shares. This financial growth allowed the company to expand its capabilities even further. It also launched Achilles Radial, a new brand that strengthened its presence in the automotive and motorcycle market. CORSA continued its international expansion in 2012 by launching ATR Radial in Japan. The same year, it collaborated with Manchester United, giving the brand even more visibility worldwide. These moves showed that CORSA was not only growing locally, but also stepping confidently into the global arena.
CORSA’s progress did not go unnoticed. In 2014, it was honored as one of the Top 20 Rising Global Stars by Forbes Indonesia. This recognition reflected the company’s rapid growth, strong strategy and commitment to producing high-quality tires. CORSA focused heavily on improving product performance for real-world riding conditions.
In 2016, it launched the 868 All Season Tire, along with a major rebranding of CORSA Motorcycle Tires. This move strengthened the brand’s identity and gave riders products that performed well in many conditions. A year later, in 2017, CORSA introduced the Corsa Platinum V Series, a line designed to deliver better grip, comfort and durability. These innovations highlighted CORSA’s dedication to rider safety and everyday performance.
In 2019, CORSA reached its next major milestone: its acquisition by Michelin. Being welcomed into one of the world’s most prestigious tire companies showed how far CORSA had come since its early days. The acquisition also opened doors to new technology, research and global opportunities.
From its humble beginnings in 1988 to joining the Michelin family in 2019, CORSA has always held onto one mission: to deliver tires that offer safe, consistent, and dependable performance on the road.
Its journey is not just a timeline of business achievements—it is a story of passion, hard work and the constant drive to improve. CORSA’s growth over the years proves that dedication to quality can turn a small local brand into a global name trusted by riders everywhere.
