Edriel has been riding motorcycle since we was kid, started riding a two-wheeled motored vehicle when he was in his elementary days. As he says it "2 wheels revs my heart" (a reference to Yamaha's tag line) as riding motorcycle does not only take him to places that he wants to be but gives him even more worthwhile, to travel and discover new places. Now-a-days riding motorcycle isn't just a mode of transportation to Edriel, it is now his escape from stress to take a breather and his key to his new hobby, Photography.

Just like most of the photographers or maniniyots as they are known commonly, Edriel started out taking photos with his mobile phone. He's got no idea what this maniniyot and pitik means but since he has long been fascinated with photography and take a photo of random things and events, he did it anyway. His first experience with Marilaque was as a back ride, this is his first exposure as well to this photographers and what they really do. This exposure has piqued his attention specially when he joined a page where photographers posts their shots, to be specific, it is the maniniyot's panning shots.

Why is he called Idethmoto anyway? Greek word? Some sort of acronym? A code? None of the above actually, Ideth was supposed to be Edit. Before we get to know Ideth moto as a photographer, he is a photo editor and a manipulator already. People tends to go to him when they wanted a photo to be edited and enhance. This is where Ideth come in, they you say "Pa idit or pa idet naman" when they try to ask him for his service. Funny but it is true. What about moto? It wasn't because it was related to motorcycle, it is a part of a running joke back then to use "moto" or "mo 'to" as a sarcasm back to his collage days which is usually associated with an action to taunt. He placed the two words together to come to now what we know as Idethmoto which means "Edit this".

When you do something, you usually do it to gain something right? This is also the case for Edriel, why does he do what he does? The answer is Hobby. Photography has been his has become his hobby and in a way an escape same as riding a motorcycle. This has given him a chance to get to far places, experience new things and meet new friends. He gets to enjoy  every travel, every new photography techniques he picks along the way and the company of new friends that he gets to meet.

Everything has is struggles so what hurdles does Edriel encountered when he decided to be a photographer?  It is to manage his time. Whit the current regular work he's got and the places he wanted to travel to, now he's got these photos he's taken to edit. This photographer does not settle on just taking photos, he Ideths (edits) them himself to make sure that every photos tells the story of that day, in the best way and looks possible. From composition down to color grading, Edriel sets these settings a photo at a time. All these while still thinking of the work he's got back at the corporate world.

The best reward after all these for Edriel is the appreciation from the people who looks at the photos. The recognition and the frequent good feedbacks on the photos he takes is reward enough more than anything physical reward. He gets to know more people of the same interest as him and gains connection to broaden his network and meet new friends. This is all he needs to continue his chosen path and to improve on his craft each experience at a time.

This is Idethmoto and his story.
