BIKE NIGHT ASIA BIKE OF THE WEEK: Yamaha MT-15
Marvin's MT-15A worthy addition to the MT Series as your enter the Dark Side.
Yamahaâs Master of Torque Series or MT Seriesâ compact sibling, the MT-15 delivers a meaner looks with its sharp lines and angles. The naked body appeals to the crowd of scooter users who are looking for better suspensions and a more aggressive looking bike making it worthy of the tagline âDark Side of Japanâ.
The MT-15âs engine is the same as the sporty powerhouse of an R15. Yes, thatâs the same fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine in different clothing. This engine reaches a max horsepower of 19.3hp at 10,000rpm and peak torque of 14.7Nm at 8,500 rpm and with an upgraded muffler in tow? This beast canât hide the power that the awesome engine power delivery provides.
The other thing that needs to be pointed out is the MT-15âs ride and handling. With wide handlebars, a short trail, and Yamahaâs delta box frame all contribute to how light, flickable, and responsive this bike is. This is an extremely light and well balanced bike that would require you minimal input.

The MT-15 definitely fits in the MT Series line as it is a bike that both have the sportiness in its soul while maintaining its reliability which can be enjoyed on long trips and open roads.
