Dumaguete Gears Up for Shell Advance Masters Season 2

On May 10, 2025, the Nationwide Mekaniko League heated up the stage at Barangay Bagacay Covered Court, Dumaguete City. Forty-one experienced mechanics participated in the highly anticipated Shell Advance Masters Season 2.

The morning started with cloudy weather and torrential rain, but the Bike Night Asia team, together with Fast Unimerchants Incorporated, acted promptly and prepared. The registration starts immediately after the preparations, and participants gradually fill the registration booth.

Sir Jeff Dela Cruz of Bike Night Asia took the helm, guiding attendees through the initial moments and proudly presenting the executives, including Ms. Mikaelah Lopez, the pivotal Channel Account Manager for Visayas.

The event provided a unique platform for professional growth, as almost every attending mechanic experienced their first dedicated workshop, guided by TESDA TVET Trainor Mr. Bryan Landicho, where new knowledge and crucial terminologies were unveiled.

To find out who will represent Dumaguete in the Finale of The Master Mekaniko League, the evaluation and challenges for the mechanics start after the specialized workshop. Same sets of exams and assessments were given to the mechanics. The competition kicked off with a written examination, a crucial first hurdle designed to gauge the mechanics' foundational knowledge. It was followed by a test of their recall and precision as they meticulously identified motorcycle engine components. From 41 down to 5 top mechanics, and to assess the patience, strategy, and skills of the top five mechanics, each one of them was assigned a motorcycle. They need to diagnose the motorcycle to find out the defect put in by the staff.

All of the top five mechanics have their own strategies and expertise, but one arose and dominated after the competition. Mr. Beethoven Q. Balasabas brings home the title of the Shell Advance Regional Master of Dumaguete. He received fifty thousand pesos as a reward and guaranteed his spot in the Finale.
